Career Specialist/Education Program

Kenwood upper academy students participate in career education activities taught by our career specialist. The Career Education Program and activities have been recognized as one of the most effective means of impacting positively upon potential and actual dropouts. The goal of the Career Education Program is to prepare students for the world of work and the competitive global marketplace that is changing every day.

Kenwood’s Career Education Program supports our curriculum, preparing each student to become a productive, employable, and self-supporting member of society. The orientation introduces students to the many careers available in the wonderful world of work. Students are encouraged to think about the subjects they enjoy and the things that they like to do daily. Some of the questions asked include; Are you a people person? Do you like working in teams? Do you enjoy seeing others succeed? Do you like using your hands? Students are taught that learning about who they are now can help them live a happy and healthy life as an adult.
