Volunteers

Volunteers are an integral part of Kenwood K-8 School. There are many volunteer opportunities available in many diverse areas. We use volunteers as classroom helpers, fundraisers and at various school events to name a few. The classroom teacher has discretion and final say over the volunteers in his or her room. Parents may volunteer in their child’s room if the child’s teacher sees fit.

For insurance and security reasons, volunteers who are working during school hours are required to do the following:

1)  You must be a Miami-Dade School Registered Volunteer.  If you are not a Registered Volunteer yet, you need to fill out a Registration Form in the Main Office.

2)  Every time you volunteer in the school or attend a field trip you need to sign-in the mandatory Visitors Log in the Main Office.

3)  Also, every time you volunteer in the school or at a field trip you need to log-in your volunteer hours in the Volunteer’s Binder in the Main Office and wear a Volunteer Badge.

Voluntarios

Los voluntarios(as) son una parte integral de la escuela Kenwood K-8. Hay muchas oportunidades de voluntariado disponibles en diversas áreas. Nuestros voluntarios(as) sirven como ayudantes en las clases y en eventos de recaudación de fondos, por nombrar algunos de los tantos eventos. La maestra de su clase se reserva la decisión final sobre los voluntarios que necesita. Los padres pueden ser voluntarios en el salón de su hijo(a) sí la maestra lo requiere.

Por razones de seguridad y del seguro, aquellos voluntarios(as) que presten sus servicios durante las horas de la escuela deben seguir tres reglas obligatorias:

1/ Debe ser un Voluntario(a) Registrado(a) en el Sistema de Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Miami-Dade. Sí todavía no se ha registrado, necesita llenar un formulario en la oficina principal.

2/ Cada vez que sirva de voluntario(a) en la escuela o en un paseo, debe firmar la Planilla de Visitantes en la oficina de la escuela.

3/ Además, cada vez que sirva como voluntario(a) en la escuela o en un paseo, debe ingresar sus horas en la Carpeta de Voluntarios(as) en la oficina y usar una calcomanía de voluntario(a).

Si desea ser voluntario(a) de alguna forma en Kenwood, por favor llene abajo el formulario de Voluntariado y entréguelo a la maestra de su hijo(a).
