What is a Room-Parent?

          A Room Parent is a person that provides the personal contact between the school and the home.  He/she has the opportunity to relate the purpose of the PTSA to other parents, teachers and facilitates greater participation and parental involvement in school activities.

 

            A Room Parent is a communicator who helps parents feel informed, important and valued.

 

            The main responsibilities of a Room Parent are:

 

1.                  To coordinate with the teacher the planning of classroom activities (such as the holiday parties, Field Day and Walk-A-Thon).

 

2.                  To attend PTSA meetings, or send a class representative to the meetings and assist with PTSA fundraising projects.  (such as the Fall Festival)

 

3.                  To establish a telephone committee for your class with the help of Assistant Room Parents or other class volunteers so that information can be related quickly and efficiently when needed.

 

4.                  To urge attendance at PTSA meetings by being informed of dates, times and programs and with the PTSA membership committee.

 

5.                  Assist with health and safety issues that affect your class, as needed.

¿Que es un Padre de Salón de Clase?

 

Un Padre de Salón de Clase es una persona que facilita el contacto personal entre el colegio y el hogar.  El/ella tiene la oportunidad de relatar el propósito del PTSA a otros padres, maestros y facilita mayor participación y el envolvimiento de otros padres en actividades escolares.

 

Un Padre de Salón de Clase es un comunicador quien ayuda a otros padres sentirse informados, importantes y valorados.

 

Las principales responsabilidades de un Padre de Salón de Clase son:

 

  1. Coordinar con la maestra(o) la planificación de las actividades de la clase (días festivos, eventos especiales como Field Day y Walk-A-Thon).

 

  1. Asistir las reuniones del PTSA, o mandar un representante de la clase a las reuniones y asistir con proyectos del PTSA para recaudar fondos (festival de otoño).

 

  1. Establecer un comité de teléfono para su clase con la ayuda de Asistentes de Padres de Salón de Clase u otros voluntarios para que la información sea diseminada rápidamente y eficazmente cuando sea necesario.

 

  1. Urgir asistencia a las reuniones de PTSA estando informados de antemano con las fechas, horas y programas y con el comité de miembros del PTSA.

 

  1. Asistir con temas de salud y seguridad que afectan su clase, cuando sea necesario.
