The elementary choir and recorder ensembles    performed a winter music  concert, directed by Mrs. Cover, on  December 11, 2007 in the Annex  Cafeteria. More than 60 elementary students             participated in this event for their families and friends.

FCAT Explorer

FCAT Explorer is a set of free, Web-based practice programs. All FCAT Explorer programs provide skill definitions and examples, and allow kids to practice by themselves because the programs give them corrective feedback and learning guidance.

 

Math programs are available for grades 5, 8, and 10. Reading programs are available for grades 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10. Science programs are available for grades 5 and 8. Children can practice in the programs at, or closest to, his or her grade level, Your child can use FCAT Explorer for free on any computer with internet access. Each child has been assigned a sign-in name and password. If you do not have this information, please see your child’s homeroom teacher.

 

Please encourage your child to practice using FCAT Explorer so that we can tame the ‘CAT’ on the FCAT!!

 

 

FCAT Explorer & Riverdeep

Stephanie Garcia, a fifth grade student in Ms. Albert’s class, was chosen to have her Art project displayed in the “Tropicool MiamiDistrictwide Exhibition. The exhibition is on display at the Mia Gallery at the Miami International Airport. Congratulations to Stephanie! We are proud of you!

Riverdeep

Riverdeep is another set of educational software that is available to students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Reading and Math practice programs are available for    students from Pre-kindergarten to grade five. In order to access Riverdeep, follow these instructions.

1. Go to http://www.dadeschools.net

2. Click on the “Students” tab.

3. On the menu on the right, click on “Riverdeep”

4. Enter your student ID number for both the username and the password.

5. Choose your Reading or Math activity.

 

Parents remember, consistent practice is the key to       academic success.
