Instructions

Times for
departure and arrival of buses
-
Students may
begin to arrive at school at 4:30 a.m. Buses will depart at 5:00 a.m.
SHARP.
-
Parking is
not permitted in the drop-off zone directly in front of the school.
-
We expect to
return to Kenwood at approximately 11:00 p.m. Students will be instructed
to call their parents approximately 30 minutes before arriving at school.
-
Students
should bring a cell phone and must know the contact information for their
parents or guardians.
-
All students
and chaperones must ride the bus both ways.
-
Students
will not be permitted to walk home without their parents or guardians.
-
Appropriate
attire
-
Kenwood 8th
grade t-shirt is MANDATORY. You may not alter the t-shirt in
any way or form.
-
Students
should wear comfortable bottoms: jeans, pants, capris, shorts of an
appropriate length – no skirts.
-
Students must
wear tennis shoes and socks – no open-toed shoes.
-
Suggested
items to bring and student responsibility for items
-
Students may
bring caps, cameras, cell phones, pillows, sunscreen, water bottles, and
jackets.
-
Students assume all responsibility for the items that they bring.
-
any items left on the bus are left at STUDENTs’ own risk.
-
adults will not carry or take responsibility for students’ items.
-
Money
-
Students
should bring enough money for lunch, dinner and snacks.
They may bring
extra money for souvenirs if desired. Students should MANAGE THEIR MONEY
WISELY.

Breakfast
will be provided to all students free of charge by M-DCPS.

Behavior
-
Whether on the
bus ride or at the park, inappropriate behavior will result in the students’
not being permitted to ride any rides and will result in additional
disciplinary action upon return to school. Students may be ejected from
the park.

Buses
-
FOOD IS NOT
ALLOWED ON THE BUSES.

Chaperones
-
Each student
will be assigned to a chaperone and will be responsible to that chaperone as
well as to the Kenwood Administration.

GRADE SOCIAL DANCE

Appropriate Attire:
Semi-Formal

Gentlemen
should wear dress pants, dress shirts and ties. They may choose to wear dress
suits or tuxedos.

Ladies
should wear appropriate semi-formal wear.

Dress shoes are required for all.
-
Jeans and t-shirts are not permitted.
o
Parents may
take photos in the lobby. Professional photography will be available; flyer will
be forthcoming.
o
Parents
must provide transportation to and from dance. Parents must pick up students
by 11:00 p.m. Students will not be permitted to walk home or
elsewhere without their parents or guardians.
o
Students
must remain within the ballroom area. Inappropriate behavior will result in
removal from the dance and additional disciplinary action upon return to school.

GRADE PROMOTIONAL CEREMONY

will be held in the auditorium (signs will be posted to direct you).
